3PL warehouse in Spain: fulfillment for brands selling to Spanish customers

If you ship into Spain from another country, every order carries cross-border transit, customs friction and a price your Spanish competitors do not pay. Stock in a warehouse between Barcelona and Valencia fixes all three. This guide explains how it works, from the first pallet to the first delivery.

Why hold stock in Spain

Spain is the fourth largest ecommerce market in the EU and one of the fastest growing. Spanish shoppers expect delivery in one or two days and free or cheap shipping, because that is what the domestic players offer. An order shipped from Germany, the Netherlands or the UK arrives in four to seven days, costs two to three times more to ship, and, from outside the EU, can land with a customs charge that the customer refuses to pay.

Holding stock in Spain turns that around. Orders ship the same day with a Spanish carrier at domestic rates, returns stay in the country, and marketplaces such as Amazon.es or Miravia treat you as a local seller.

Where the warehouse is and why it matters

Bar chart of logistics warehouse rent in euros per square metre per month: Barcelona 9.25, Madrid 7.25, Valencia 5.65 and Camp de Tarragona between 3.50 and 3.85 (Spanish labels)
Prime logistics rent at the end of 2025 (CBRE) against advertised units on the Camp de Tarragona.

Most Spanish 3PLs sit in the industrial belts of Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia, where logistics rent is the highest in the country and ends up in every order. Our warehouses are on the Mediterranean corridor between Barcelona and Valencia, next to the AP-7 motorway, which is toll-free and reaches Barcelona, Valencia, Zaragoza and Madrid in a few hours. Land there costs half, and the carriers are the same, so the saving goes into your rate without costing you a day of transit.

How it works for a foreign brand

  1. You send us your catalogue: SKUs, dimensions, weights, packaging preferences. We agree the box, filler and inserts before anything ships.
  2. Your stock arrives on pallets or in cartons, from your warehouse or straight from your manufacturer. If it comes from outside the EU, your forwarder clears customs first. We count, check and book it into inventory the day it arrives.
  3. We connect your store (Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop) or your marketplace feeds to Docklane, the warehouse software we run on. Orders flow in; stock and tracking flow back.
  4. Every order is picked, checked and packed, then shipped the same day with the carrier chosen for that destination.
  5. Returns come back to the warehouse in Spain, are inspected and restocked or set aside, and you see it all in Docklane.

What we ship and where

Any product that keeps at room temperature: fashion, cosmetics, packaged food, wine and olive oil, supplements, home goods, ceramics, small electronics, toys, books, pet products. Not frozen, chilled or fresh goods. Destinations: mainland Spain in 24 to 48 hours, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Portugal, and the rest of the EU and beyond with GLS, UPS, DHL Express and FedEx. Ten carriers integrated, chosen per order or by rule, billed at carrier rate with no surcharge.

What it costs

Two lines: the space your goods occupy, per pallet or per square metre, and each order prepared. Shipping is billed at the carrier rate. No setup fee, no monthly minimum, no lock-in. What drives the price, and why a warehouse in Madrid or Barcelona makes it more expensive, is in ecommerce fulfillment pricing in Spain.

Checklist before you send stock

  • Every SKU with a barcode (EAN or your own) and a matching line in the catalogue we agree.
  • Cartons labelled with SKU and quantity; pallets stable, wrapped and no higher than 1.80 m.
  • A packing list sent before the goods, so we can check the count against it on arrival.
  • Batch or expiry dates on the carton when your product has them.
  • Your packaging preferences: branded box or plain, inserts, leaflets, gift options.

Tell us what you sell, how many orders you ship to Spain per month and where your stock is today. We reply with a written quote, fixed prices per pallet and per order. If you sell on Shopify, start with Shopify fulfillment in Spain.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Spanish VAT number to store goods in Spain?

If you sell to Spanish consumers from stock held in Spain you will normally need to register for Spanish VAT or use the EU One-Stop Shop rules, depending on your setup. We are not tax advisers; your accountant or a fiscal representative can confirm it in a short call. The warehouse itself does not require it.

Can goods come directly from my manufacturer outside the EU?

Yes. Your forwarder clears customs at the port or airport and delivers to the warehouse. We receive, count and book the goods into inventory the day they arrive.

Which stores and marketplaces do you connect to?

Shopify, WooCommerce and PrestaShop through Docklane, plus marketplaces such as Amazon, Miravia and Zalando via order files or connectors. One stock serves all channels.

Is there a minimum volume?

No. Start with the stock and orders you have today, month to month, and scale up or down as sales move.
